The eastern moose :

The eastern moose is a subspecies of moose that is currently spread throughout Eastern Canada, New England, and upstate New York inhabits boreal forests and is considered to be the third largest subspecies of moose in North America, after the Western moose and the Alaskan moose. it is worth noting that the males of moose are known to be aggressive during the mating season and attack anything that excites them.

The Western moose :

The Western moose is a subspecies of moose that lives in the boreal forests, in the Canadian Arctic, the Western Canadian provinces, some western parts of the northern United States, and New Zealand, and is famous as the second largest subspecies of moose in North America after the Alaskan moose, and this species promises to be prey to Cougars, timber wolves, bears, and Wolves, moreover, the males of the Western moose are aggressive during the mating season and may injure or kill those who show their way.

Alaskan moose :

The Alaskan moose is a subspecies of moose and its main habitat is Alaska, and the Alaskan moose is considered to be the largest member of the deer family, it is also the largest moose animal in the world, where the male of the Alaskan moose can weigh up to 752 kg, and it is worth noting that the Alaskan moose every winter gets rid of its horns and then grows a new pair in the spring.

Moose Shiras :

The Shiras moose is the smallest moose in North America, it is distinguished by its yellowish-brown body color, this huge animal has very long legs, and on its shoulders, there is a large hump, as well as huge palm horns growing from the sides of the head. this type of moose is known as agile and with steady feet, as it is able to cross swamps and fast Sands.

Feeding the moose :

Moose are herbivores, as the word “moose” is an Algonquin term meaning “Eater of twigs”, and moose are so tall that they have difficulty bending down to eat herbs, so they prefer to feed on leaves, bark, and twigs of trees and shrubs, in fact, their favorite foods come from Willow spruce, Aspen, Balsam, besides they feed on aquatic plants from streams and ponds.

Habitat of the moose :

Moose are found in the northern regions of the United States, stretching from Maine to Washington, throughout Canada, and to Alaska. also, due to their large size and insulating fur, moose are limited to cold climates, and forest areas with streams and ponds are an ideal habitat for moose.
